Finding a Wedding Venue in Spain
All of these venues are wonderful places to hold a reception following your wedding and to spend your wedding night.
Bear in mind that you cannot actually marry in any of these venues, but all are close to churches where weddings can be celebrated and most will assist with arranging a symbolic wedding within the hotel.
One thing that overseas couples can come up against in Spain is a slight unwillingness of wedding vendors and venues to take bookings because the weddings are so small. Spanish weddings tend to be huge affairs, with up to 500 guests not unusual, and the vendors sometimes feel that taking a booking for a smaller wedding might mean losing a more profitable large one. However all the places we list either specialise in or are happy to cater for smaller groups.
Spanish Paradores
Paradores are historical buildings, such as castles, fortresses and palaces, usually in very special locations which are run as hotels by a Spanish government owned company. There are paradores throughout Spain and many make fabulous locations for weddings.
These make such wonderful wedding venues that have created a separate page on Parador Weddings to highlight what we believe are the best ones for those coming from overseas.

Hotel La Bobadilla, Andalusia
This may be the most beautiful hotel in Spain, some say in the world!
It is more like a village than a hotel, set atop a hill with fantastic views over the Andalusian countryside. All rooms are in their own buildings, each one individual in both its architecture and its decor and all linked together by flower-lined pathways and marble colonnades.
There is a huge outdoor swimming pool, a spa with Turkish paths and saunas and you can even go riding on wonderful Andalusian horses.
The 'village' even has its own chapel, where weddings or exchange of vows ceremonies can be held.
Hostal de La Gravina, Costa Brava
Sumptuous is the only word to describe this small and very exclusive five star hotel located between two beaches.
Inside the hotel is decorated in traditional Catalan style, with marble and wooden floors, hand-carved ebony furniture, crystal lamps and walls covered with gold and silk.
The Royal suite really fulfils its promise, but all rooms are extremely luxurious and large. Private banqueting rooms cater mainly to smaller weddings. The Spa will take good care of the bride with a special wedding package of pampering and beauty treatments.
Hotel Alfonso XIII, Seville
A very famous hotel which promises and delivers complete luxury and impeccable service to every guest.
You can choose from rooms in Moorish, Castilian and Baroque styles, each individually designed with silk covered walls, huge beds, marble floored bathrooms with vast mirrors. There are a variety of reception areas where weddings can be held, one more beautiful and dramatic than the last.
It is definitely not a budget option, but this would be a wedding that would wow even the most jaded of guests.
