Parador Weddings in Spain
Paradores are historical buildings, such as castles, fortresses and palaces, usually in very special locations which are run as hotels by a Spanish government owned company.
Each Spanish Paradores has an interesting history itself and many overlook famous buildings or are located in areas of outstanding beauty. They are commercially run, though are often quite a bit less expensive than standard hotels, and make wonderful wedding locations.
Some Paradores may have chapels in their grounds and be able to hold the wedding ceremony, but in most cases they are reception venues only. There will always be churches available nearby. One point to note: if you are considering a Parador you will need to book a long time in advance as they fill up very early.
Booking a Parador
While you can deal directly with the Parador, there are representatives in most countries abroad who can assist you and this is often more practical since English is not always spoken by the Parador staff.
