How to Get Married in Malta
Malta is an increasingly popular wedding destination and the procedures required are quite straightforward.
Malta is one of the few countries where it is possible to have just a religious ceremony, either Roman Catholic or Anglican, and have your wedding legally recognised internationally.
The Maltese Island of Gozo is a beautiful and very popular wedding location, but ther are also some wonderful wedding locations and venues on the mainland.
Legal Civil Weddings
Not only is it possible for foreign nationals to have a legal Civil marriage in Malta, it is easy to organise.
Weddings do not have to be held in Registry Offices. Maltese couples often marry at 'Wedding Halls', which anyone else can use also, but most foreign nationals get married at their hotels.

Church Weddings
It is possible to have either a Roman Catholic or an Anglican wedding in Malta without the need for a separate civil ceremony, since marriages in both churches are legally recognised by the state.
It is not possible to have a legal wedding in the church of any other religion.
