Civil Registration Offices in Ireland
To apply for a marriage licence or to make a notification of your intention to marry, you need to make direct contact with the Civil Registration Office in the district where you will marry.
It is highly recommended that you contact the registry office well in advance of your intended wedding date. This is particularly the case if you wish to marry in a location other than the registry office itself.
Note: For historic reasons most registry offices in Ireland are located in Health Authority offices or hospitals. These are not particularly beautiful places to marry - they are essentially office blocks or anonymous administrative buildings.
