Irelandis growing in popularity as a destination for weddings and it is arelatively straight forward matter to organise a wedding there, withsome provisos.
There are many very beautiful and historiclocations where you can hold a wedding reception, but the legalceremony can only take place in either a church, a registry office or aplace licensed by a registrar.
The provision for licensing places tohold weddings is relatively new, and there are some restrictions -weddings cannot for example be held in outdoor locations or in privatehouses.

It is possible for foreign nationals to have a legal Civil marriage in Ireland but there are quite strict residency requirements.
