Finding a Wedding Venue in Cyprus

These are places that are both luxurious and romantic and will be able to hold at least a small reception following your wedding while some have on-site chapels. They all have that 'something special' that is needed for a perfect wedding venue.

They are certainly not budget options, but for the standard of luxury and service they provide are very good value.

Cyprus Wedding Hotels

Azia Beach Hotel, Paphos

Another hotel with its own Chapel, a wonderful traditional Geek style one, where weddings can be celebrated. This is five star luxury, but with an informal and very friendly atmosphere.

For the wedding couple the Club Bungalow Suites, with their private terraces and Jacuzzis, or the Skylight Suite with its magnificent views, are perfect choices.

The hotel offers a range of wedding packages which include everything you could possibly need and are very helpful with all arrangements.

It's name means 'Queen' and this truly is a majestic location for a wedding. The hotel is close to the Baths of Aphrodite, on a beautiful private beach and with a backdrop of mountains.

Bedrooms are vast and very luxuriously furnished and all have balconies with sea views. The Garden Suite, with its own private pool, is the perfect choice for a just-married couple. There is a highly regarded Thalassa Spa, four pools and a range of water sports on offer.

The hotel has its own chapel, which can hold up to 35 guests. After the wedding guests can have champagne on the terrace or in the 'village square' before a reception in one of the hotel's four wonderfully decorated and very different restaurants.

Elysium, Paphos

Located on the beach, close to the Tomb of the Kings, this is a five star resort hotel where luxury is standard throughout.

They have a wonderful little chapel in the grounds - though it can only hold about 20 people - and a range of excellent areas available for receptions. Private villas in the grounds, each with their own pool, are great places to stay for small wedding parties or for honeymoon couples.

There is an experienced in-house wedding planner who will assist with organising the wedding and the location is excellent.

Londa, Limassol

With its chic modern decor and understated luxury, Londa is billed as the first couture hotel in Cyprus.

If the hotel is understated, the small chapel in the grounds, overlooking the sea, is anything but - inside the walls are completely covered with lavish and colourful murals and it is a really unique setting for a wedding.

There is a lovely spa on the premises, as well as restaurants and bars popular with the local 'in-crowd'.

This hotel, mindful of its exclusivity, does not shout about its wedding service, you will not find it advertised anywhere, but once you make contact with them they are extremely helpful.

Yacht/Boat Weddings in Cyprus

An increasingly popular option is holding your wedding reception on board a yacht or charter boat, afloat on the calm waters of the Mediterranean.

The Cyrpus specialists in Yacht weddings are Exclusive Yacht Weddings, who in addition to organising the boat end of things can also assist with other arrangements.

They can cater for 2 to 150 people and this is not as expensive an option as you might imagine.

Taverna Weddings

Taverna Wedding Photo: LeonidFor a more casual and traditional style wedding, consider a Taverna. These local cafe/bars serve a menu including Meze, meat grilled on open grills and other delicious local foods, beers and wine.

Any that cater to weddings will be able to lay on traditional Cypriot music and dance for the reception.

It is not easy to find good Tavernas online, and frankly those that advertise online tend to be aimed at the general tourist market and much suited to weddings. But the wedding specialists here will certainly be able to help you organise a Taverna wedding.
